"... The true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members ..." - Mahatma Gandhi
Co Longford stands tall by any comparison, not just in Ireland, but I would go so far to say in most places across Europe, as to how the local people cherish their most vulnerable. St. Christopher’s Services, who cater for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, is testament to this.
Unfortunately, the need for our help is growing and COVID has had a huge impact on our residents, who thrive on routine, which was been severely disrupted over the past year.
Routine is an incredibly important part of an intellectually disabled person’s (child or adult) life – COVID has been massively disruptive, but the team at St. Christopher’s are determined to help our residents keep a level of routine through our outreach initiatives, leisure Buddies project and planning for a new sensory space.
In response to this need, we have launched our ‘Mind the Gap’ 2021 appeal, to help us bridge the financial gap we have in our Fundraising.
We are reaching out to companies seeking support hoping that you may consider a donation of €500.00 to help us maintain and grow our services in Longford (if you can afford a little more, we would be extraordinarily grateful 😊).
We would be delighted if you were able to support St. Christopher’s children and adults and once, we get back to normal, whatever that is, we might even see you here and you can see the positive impact your donation will have made.
