St. Christopher’s

Children’s Respite

Our aim is to provide a respite service to children and teenagers with an intellectual disability within a home like environment.

St. Christopher’s Children’s respite provides individual short term respite care for children from the ages of 5-18 who have physical or sensory disabilities and children with autism.

The respite staff will aim to:

  • Provide care that is person centre, whilst promoting the independence of each child
  • Provide an environment that feels safe and comfortable
  • Communicate with each family member in a respectful manner to ensure the best possible care can be provided to their child.

We Aim to achieve this through effective teamwork, open communication and in partnership with service users, their Family/Carers and St Christopher’s Services CLG.

We are committed to provide a flexible respite service which promotes Dignity, Respect, Choice, Independence, Social Inclusion and Contribution while fostering continuous continuity of care.
