Board of Directors

St. Christopher’s Services CLG is overseen by a dedicated Board of Directors comprised entirely of voluntary members who share joint responsibility for the organization’s operations. The Board is responsible for the governance of the charity and is entrusted with the following responsibilities:

• Ensuring compliance with the Constitution
• Managing resources responsibly
• Providing services for adults with disabilities in a safe manner
• Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and relevant laws
• Acting with reasonable skill and care
• Acting in the best interest of St. Christopher’s

The Board appoints a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to manage the day-to-day activities of the organization and collaborates with the CEO and Senior Management in a proactive yet regulatory manner.
The Board maintains two sub-committees: the Audit Committee and the Services Committee. The Audit Committee reviews accounts, prepares reports, and ensures financial accountability. The Services Committee meets with the Senior Management Team, conducts visits to Service Centres, prepares reports, and ensures that care standards are maintained.
The Chair is responsible for promoting good governance, leading the Board, and providing supervision and support to the CEO.
In summary, the Board of this Section 39 Charity carries significant responsibilities and works collaboratively with its partners—particularly the HSE—to continue the founders’ vision “to provide services for persons with disabilities in County Longford.” The Board honours the contributions of those who have championed St. Christopher’s over the past 60 years and looks forward with hope to the next 60 years.
